Our Club
The Derwent Hockey Club is the oldest continuously operating hockey club in Tasmania. The club was originally two separate clubs: the Derwent Hockey Club; and the Derwent Women's Hockey Club. The two clubs merged and become one identity in 1986.
The Men's side of the club began in the 1930s, and has remained in the Southern Tasmanian competition ever since.
In 2000 Derwent developed a new look for the face of the club, with our playing strip and club logo being redesigned by club member Simon Ancher. The new look brought orange into the traditional navy and white, for quite a stunning combination. This look was refreshed in 2007 with a redesign of both the men's and women's strips.
